Well folks, you knew it was only a matter of time. It’s a certified fact that Krasey Beauty is not just a blog about beauty, but rather, a blog about my obsessions (one of the biggest being beauty). Oftentimes, you will see new topics pop up, as well as new writers. That being said, I’d love to introduce you all to a brand new voice here on the site, and one that you will eventually become very familiar with. Ladies and gents, meet Moe, the official spokespup and new contributing editor here are Krasey Beauty. Moe would like to share with you all one of his favorite new sites, Mr Chewy. So without further adieu, here’s Moe!

What’s up, KB readers? My name is Moe, or lil’ Moe, as mommy and daddy like to call me. At 4 months old (that’s 5 years old, in human years!), I am a furry little ball of fury. My hobbies include making mommy chase me all over the house, chewing on my toys (don’t judge me, I’m teething), and kicking back and watching tv with Mom and Dad. I’m a happy little puppy, and I’ve got lots of love. Fortunately for this review, I always have something to say!

Mommy has kindly allowed me to take the mic, so to speak, to share a brand new site that I think is really neat! Mr Chewy is the name, and puppy and kitty products are their game. They have everything from my favorite food (Royal Canin Puppy food, for this discerning Morkie), to the yummiest treats that I’ve ever had! Even better, it only took 3 days to get to my house, which is a good thing too, because I was really excited to try it all!

Mommy said she likes it because the prices are great, as is the selection of products for her little boy (hint, that’s me!). I like it because shopping there means that I will always have a tasty treat (or two) on hand, to enjoy whenever I want! Scientific studies show that growing Morkies like me need their yummy snacks, and I’m tail-wagging happy that Mr Chewy gives me all that, and more.

It has been fun chatting, but I think I hear the doorbell ringing. Daddy is home! Gotta go!

Match-Makers: Butter London Polish and Lippy

In an effort to streamline my life, I find myself embracing products that shorten the amount of time it takes to get from point A (disheveled) to point B (primed and ready to take on the world). Ensuring that I don’t take on the world a mismatched mess, Butter London has launched a series of lip glosses appropriately named Lippy, in shades that are an exact match to some of their best selling nailpolishes. Well, color me excited!

Teddy Girl

We already know and love Butter London for their great nail polishes, and the two shades that I got to play with here are Yummy Mummy and Teddy Girl. Both apply smoothly, and wear beautifully with their creamy, shiny finish. Both also pave the way for their matchy matchy lippies.

The glosses themselves are ultra glossy, and slightly tacky, to ensure that the color stays on your lips longer than a traditional gloss would. The shades are of course spot on matches for their polish cousins, hooray! What’s fun about this whole matching concept is that it helps to bring a look together, because you are taking two separate areas and matching them by color. It’s also a great conversation piece, so who won’t love that. I love this whole matching idea, and truly hope that more brands embrace the concept.

Spring Is the Season For Jewels

As we now move into the thick of spring the flowers are beginning to bloom, clothing is becoming a little more loose and a little more skimpy. This is the ideal time of year to show off your jewelry. There’s just something about this time of year, when our skin is visible again after a long cold winter, that just beckons beautiful, glistening jewels. Everyone one has their favorite—diamond engagement rings being the popular choice, of course, as we move into wedding season. But beyond diamonds, there’s a few other wonderful stones that deserve notice, as they can really spice up an outfit and mesh well with spring galas and formals.

One of my favorite jewels is labradorite. This is a feldspar mineral that has a kind of special geometry to it, due to its having three directions of cleavage. It is known for its incredible diversity of colors that seem to be anchored in blue-green flashes of brilliance. Goes great with with silver!

Another great gemstone is the emerald, which—surprise, surprise—is May’s birthstone. Green by nature, this beryl mineral has a unique composition of chromium and vanadium. I don’t know what it is about the radiant hue these minerals produce, but it is nothing short of magical. It kind of looks like the mixture between a green tropical ocean and kryptonite. Only this kryptonite only weakens mediocre fashion. Emeralds have been worn for hundreds of years, and May is the most natural month to don them.

Aquamarine is another derivative of the mineral beryl. More turquoise in color, this gem of a gem ranges from pale green to solid blue. They pair well with other gemstones and as nuggets or rondelles go well with green peridot too.

Another interesting stone, the citrine, is a variety of quartz whose color generally comes in as pale yellow or slightly brown. If you can find a natural citrine, buy it and proudly wear it. Naturals are hard to find, as many store-bought ones are actually amethysts.

These are just my personal favorite spring-time stones. There are dozens of other breathtaking gems that can complement your garments as necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings or even just studs lining a dress. Spring is the season of rebirth—this year I challenge you to re-imagine your fashion sense with gemstones!
