Boscia’s One Step Wonders Kit- Reviewed

    By: Adina

This little kit is a trilogy of products, each of which boasts the ability to be fantastic as a standalone. And, to give you a preview of thoughts to come, I would have to agree! Each product included is fantastic, and the value is, at $54, really wonderful. I’ll review each product in order of use, and they are as follows: MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil, Super-Cool De-Puffing Eye Balm, and B.B. Cream SPF 27 PA++.

First off is the MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil. This was hands down my favorite part of the kit. I was skeptical at first; anything with the word “oil” in it still makes my acne-prone skin shudder. But this stuff is amazing, and unlike anything else I have tried. You apply the oil—which feels more like a liquid—straight onto a dry face. It goes on well, and while it doesn’t have the traditional gel cleanser lather, it does spread itself out really well. Massage it on in gentle circles, and it starts to feel all kinds of cool, lovely, and tingly on your skin in a subtle way. The best part, though? Rinse it off and you have the cleanest skin ever. No exfoliator, scrub, foam, mousse, or gel has ever cleaned my skin this well. It eliminated the need for a makeup remover, cleanser, exfoliator trio; this one product scrubbed off my makeup, removed dead skin, and left my skin soft and fresh. I am in LOVE!

Next is the Super-Cool De-Puffing Eye Balm. As a 23-year-old, I don’t yet have a huge issue with my eyes, but after recent late work nights and stress, I can always use a go-to product. And this one, if nothing else, felt wonderful on my VERY sensitive eye area. It looks like a chunky lip balm; you twist it and apply directly to the under-eye area. It has a very mild cooling effect, which feels amazing. I did notice some mild immediate results in the reduction of puffiness around my eyes; I’ll have to test it after I take the GRE and see how it does to remove post-sobbing puffiness. Otherwise, it’s a great and handy little product, and keeping it in your purse is likely awesome for those unexpected stress days.

Lastly is Boscia’s B.B. cream, which boasts 27 PA++ SPF and a subtle, self-adjusting shade to suit all skin tones. For those of you unsure, B.B. cream is the latest craze, and stands for “Blemish Balm”, but really is meant to be an all-purpose moisturizer, primer, and foundation. What I loved about this one is that it leaves your skin feeling moisturized and protected; especially when you use it after the cleansing oil above! The shade adjusted to a slightly too-dark shade for me; I have olive tones on very fair skin, and so the cream turned to a medium golden color. But even so, the texture alone is worth it. I wouldn’t use it as my sole foundation; hyperpigmentation forces me to prefer a heavier coverage than the lightweight BB Cream. However, I did notice that my enormous pores all but disappeared after application—a miracle for me by any means. I would highly recommend using this stuff as a primer/moisturizer under your normal makeup/foundation; or, for those of you with awesome skin, it’d work as a standalone, too. And the finishing touch? You don’t need powder over it, because it leaves skin naturally matte and lasts forever!

Overall, this trio is fantastic, and well worth it. I’d happily drop $54 just to get the cleansing oil, which is easily my newest obsession! Find this kit now, exclusively at Sephora.

It is gentle enough. Glycolic acid is on the frontier of skin care.
Instead of feeling harsh and scratchy, this product just feels a little grainy.
