And now, a nutritional psa:
We all know that the Christmas season is coming around which will seduce us to try all those nice little sweets and cakes and to savor the good and greasy dinner meals. There is almost no chance to resist. But in order not to gain too much weight and not to feel too clumsy, there is just one single recipe: exercise, exercise and, again, exercise. All that helps lose the unnecessary pounds. Going to the gym might be one option, and it could even be a nice Christmas present for friends. Yet, being and staying slim even after Christmas is also important. Here’s how you can do it.
Winter season – winter food
It is best to offer to the body what nature offers to you. There are many winter vegetables and fruits which can balance out the intake of sweets over Christmas. Cabbages, cauliflower, broccoli and carrots on the veggie side as well as oranges, kumquats, star fruit and pomegranate on the fruit side can keep you in good shape and equally boost your immune system. Drinking herbal teas and fruit juices is a very good accompaniment, too. The health issue is, in fact, not to be underestimated. As research has shown, a healthy diet in the winter season can prevent illnesses and also reduce the risk of getting a serious infection.
However, to be really safe against germs like the flu virus, it may be advisable to get a vaccination. The constant progress in antibody research has brought forward many vaccine types which have proved successful in preventing infections without leading to side effects.
Looking for a new hobby sport
At the end of the year, many people make resolutions about what they want to change in the following year. It is always wise to decide to do more exercise – no matter if it is a dancing course, a swimming course or the decision to take a walk in the park every day after dinner. In a technological world which does not require its people to use much of their physical powers and abilities each day, sport is the only way to keep mobile and healthy.
