Lipstick Queen Liptropolis Kit, Reviewed
Summer is here, and while many of us are abandoning our heavier lipsticks for glosses, I’d like to ask you all to reconsider. Lipsticks are great for any time of year, especially when you know which finish to select that is seasonally appropriate. New from The Lipstick Queen, and perfect for summer, Liptropolis is a set of three brand-new lipsticks, in a package worthy of resting on any armoire.
Inspired by the film Metropolis, the packaging on the Liptropolis kit opens like a pretty little book, with a blurb from Poppy on the inside cover. In the kit, you get three sleek, shiny, newly-formulated lipsticks that are truly something to get excited about.
Something between Lipstick Queen’s sheer Saint line and full-cover Sinner line is a new formula that has medium opacity. The aforementioned formula is moisturizing, glossy, high-shine, and packed with just the right amount of color that lips stand out, but not too much color that may overpower. This is the formula featured in the Liptropolis kit. Always accommodating, Liptropolis contains three shades, each named for a different neighborhood in the city. Poppy King (the founder of Lipstick Queen) believes that you can tell which neighborhood you’re in by the lips everyone is wearing, and I’d be inclined to agree. The shades are: Soho- Red, Upper East- Nude, and Central Park- Peach.
