Ladies, with the beginning of spring comes wedding season, and that means that some of you will be preparing to be either a bridesmaid, or a bride. As a matter fact, I had my very first bridesmaid experience just last week. In case you all aren’t sick of hearing about it already, I took part in the wedding of one of my best friends. As a first-time bridesmaid, and of course as a beauty blogger, I felt it was my absolute duty to research all of the beauty essentials that we would all need for the big day. Since spring wedding season is here, I figured that now would be as good a time as ever to share my findings. Without further ado, here they are!
Seven out of eight of us in the bridal party (bride included), happen to have something in common with Snow White, and that would be our complexions. Since we all know how bad that great big ball of fire in the sky is, hence tanning being wrong, our bronze came to us via St Tropez’s Instant Glow Lotion, which left our complexions naturally toasty sans streaking. Best of all, there was no commitment, as the formulation washed off at the end of the night.\
Crest 3D Whitestrips
What better way to complement our instant faux glows than with a brilliantly contrasting smile. Towards that end, the new Crest 3D Whitestrips offered up quick fix whitening, to ensure that all of us had bright smiles for the even brighter moments. We even joked in the limo that the bride, groom, and wedding party’s bright smiles were brought to us by Crest.
Pantene Aqua Light Conditioning Shake
Since all of us had hot and heavy dates with the hair hot tools, Pantene’s brand new Aqua Light Conditioning Shake quickly became our mane’s b.f.f.s. The three in one spray is designed to offer up heat damage protection, shine, and detangling conditioners that all ensured that our locks looked lustrous, and stayed protected.
Secret Outlast Deodorant
Hands up, baby, hands down, dancing arms were flailing all around. From ceremony to reception, magic eight ball predicted that there was going to be a lot of running around on the big day, for all parties included. A wedding (or any day, really) is no place for body odor, folks. For us krasey busy bridal-partyers, Secret’s brand new Outlast deodorant offered up dual action odor technology, protecting pits from sweat and stink before, during, and after we shaked our groove thangs. It’s odor protection for the long haul. Translation, that’s 48 hours of b.o-free fun!
Skintimate and Schick Quattro Shaving
Being that the bridesmaids had to wear short, strapless dresses that left a lot of hairy real estate that needed to be cleared. Looking for a shaving duo that would get the job done, I turned to the new Schick Quattro disposable razor (with delightfully scented handles and FOUR blades) and Skintimate’s Moisturizing Cream Shave (which is packed with exfoliating pearls to smooth out the skin). Being that I am very pale, with very dark hair, you know I needed all the help I could get to eradicate ugly, unsightly hair from both my legs, and underarm area. Fortunately, this dynamic duo was just what the wedding planner ordered.
For those of us who tend to get a bit emotional, waterproof mascara and liner are both MUSTS. My pick comes from Make Up For Ever, naturally, in the form of Smoky Lash Waterproof Mascara, and Aqua Black Cream and liquid to line. As a matter fact, most of the products I used did come from my beloved Make Up For Ever. Surprised? I thought not.
Valentina Body Products
Scent is one of those things that is oh so important, or at least to me. The fragrance that has most recently captured my heart happens to be the new Valentina by Valentino, which was not only appropriate, but perfect for the occasion. If that scent doesn’t embody the spring wedding, I don’t know what does. Fortunately, I was able to use not only the delicate spray, but also the perfumed lotion, which imparted the loveliest of glows to my skin. The lotion itself is lightweight, delicately scented, and gorgeously incandescent. No wonder I was glowing.
Last but not least, I knew that at least some feasting would be going on at said wedding. Towards that end, I needed shapewear that would keep everything smooth, shapely, and in line. I found what I was looking for in Shatobu’s shapers, which not only kept lines smooth and my tummy in check. A plus, all around.
There you have it, my bridesmaid beauty essentials. Wedding season is just around the corner, and now you have the instruments to guide you down the aisle in style. Happy weddings, everyone!
