Yellow Diamond is described as an airy, transparent floral, but to me it’s so much more. The crisp but sweet fragrance evokes imagines of an elegant young lady, sweetly dressed in the best that fashion has to offer. The yellow diamond girl is a trendsetter through and through, always ready to set the pace for stylish girls everywhere.
Yellow Diamond opens with strong, fruity citrus bursts attributed to lemon, bergamot, neroli and pear sorbet. At its heart, orange blossom, freesia, mimosa and water lily give the fragrance a crisp, lighter than air feel, only to be grounded by a solid base of amber, precious musk and guaiac wood. All in all, a heady combination just begging to be sniffed.
The bottle is shaped like the previous editions of the collection, a yellow flacon with a large yellow-tinged jewel for a cap. The fragrance and bottle was inspired by the last gift that Gianni Versace gave Donatella. his sister, a 20 carrot canary (yellow) diamond ring. That being said, it’s no wonder this fragrance has a certain sweet sentimentality to it.
