**WINNER** Peter Thomas Roth Skincare Basket Giveaway

    By: Adina

You came, you saw, you shared your most cringe-worthy horrible boss stories. The winner of the PTR basket is…

CATHY B of Palm Breeze Living.

Cathy, please send your info to adina@kraseybeauty.com

Thanks for playing everyone! More giveaways coming soon, promise!

You may not know this (you do now!), but Peter Thomas Roth has a special guest starring role in the newest comedy flick, “Horrible Bosses”.

To sum it up, a bottle of Peter Thomas Roth Shampoo was seen in Kevin Spacey’s bathroom, when a certain character was caught putting peanuts into the bottle. Of course he was trying to do some damage, since Spacey’s character is allergic. Ouch!

Hilarious movie aside, do you want to snag a gift basket of Peter Thomas Roth products, worth about $350? Of course you do, and here’s your chance!

I am giving away a beauty basket, brimming with Peter Thomas Roth goodies! To win, all you have to do is comment and tell me your horrible boss story. A quick sentence on why your boss was/is the worst boss ever will do.

Then, tweet a brief version of your story to me on twitter. Make sure you tag @KraseyBeauty and @PTRskin on the twitter to win her!

You have a week to enter, as the contest ends on July 22nd! Good luck, bellas!

Fast food restaurant when I was oh so young: The boss measured my ice cream cones, harangued and harrassed me, called me ditzy behind my back (again about my making ice cream cones too big…) and generally made me miserable. The one and only job I have been fired from. :) :) :)

my boss is the worse because he comes up with these idiotic tests…
a few weeks ago my boss walks out from his office with five sheets of bubble wrap and announces, “Whoever wants these can have them.” He plops them on a cart. I couldn’t resist the urge to ask the following: “Can we pop them? I mean, if I take a sheet to pop, will you get pissed?” My boss walks up to me and announces, “The bubble wrap was an intelligence test. The first person to ask if they are allowed to pop it is the least intelligent in the room.”

My first full time job, right out of high school, was as a DJ at a local radio station in my (small) home town. I was the night jock, on from 9PM to 6AM Tuesday-Saturday, but most of the programming was taped, I recorded everything and rarely had to go live unless there was an emergency. They went live at 6AM for the morning drive, and on Sunday mornings they played recorded religious programming instead of music.

My immediate supervisor was the program manager, and was also one half of the morning ride duo. He was a raging alcoholic. He would randomly call me at all hours of the night to slur obscure or patently ridiculous questions at me, wander into the station at odd hours, drunk out of his skull, and scream at me about the most ridiculous things, things which very often had nothing to do with me. He expected me to edit the local news for him (not my job) because he didn’t like the news editor’s writing style and didn’t want to read it the way she wrote it. She had a degree and was paid about 3 times what I was, but I redid all of her work for him.

He was supposed to be there at 6AM to take over the FM side, and another DJ came in at the same time to take over the AM side, and on weekdays and Saturday the office staff and sales people came in at 8. Sundays it was dead – just the jocks.

Sunday mornings we played a Catholic mass at 6AM, and the programming on our AM side was in French, with Cajun music. He normally came in to do the religious programming, and we had another DJ for the French programming. One Sunday morning, neither of them showed up. So there I was, all alone, frantic, running back and forth across the building between announcements and commercials, trying to run two radio stations live (FM & AM), and field calls from a whole lot of old Cajuns who barely spoke English and wanted to know what happened to their regular francophone programming and prayerful Sunday morning Jerry (who was usually lit while he was on the air reading news and homilies, little did they know). It turned out the two of them had been out drinking the night before, and didn’t make it in.

The station owner came in, and the program manager (my boss) was in very hot water. The only reason he kept his job was he was engaged to the owner’s daughter. He was very proud of me for keeping the station on the air by myself.

I waited another month to get my ducks in a row, but I made up my mind to quit after that night, I didn’t care how much the station owner liked me. I’d had enough of that madhouse.

      Off to tweet. :D

my boss back in the 80′s was the worst because he would take peoples’ deposits and never do the work or deliver & install the product. He owed EVERYBODY money and it was my job to lie to the bill collectors and customers that called with complaints. He was a liar, a conman and a thief. He was always very very late with my paychecks.
He had gotten beat up a couple of times from angry customers. I finally had to quit when we started getting bomb threats. There were many many other reasons I quit too – too numerous to mention, but had I known back then what I know now – he could have spent some time in jail for sexual harassment as well. He was not only a terrible boss, but not a nice person either.

My old boss used to get upset with everything i did. If i was making sales and chatting with customers, he would get mad that I did not spend enough time keeping my section nice and tidy. If I was busy cleaning up all the messed up clothing, he would tell me I needed to go help the customers.

And if I am getting the clothes folded, he tells me im not doing it well enough!
The worst part was, he was a useless boss, and was only the boss because his uncle owned the company.

I spent a summer during college as an unpaid intern in the personnel office of a luxury hotel. My “boss” looked forward to the Friday meetings with other managers because she enjoyed seeing how many she could make cry. I think that tells you how nice she was to work for. I avoided graduating from college for a couple years after that experience. I was terrified of the working world.

I have the winner for most horrible boss. Recently I was working as a temp legal assistant. The company was not able to hire me permanent, so I started looking for permanent work. I told my boss thinking I was doing the right thing by telling him the truth.
He didn’t like that I was leaving, so on that Friday he went in to the “big” boss and told him I had just walked off the job, that I found another job and just left.
Needless to day, the agency informed me that was my last day there. I could not believe it, and I couldn’t believe he got away with it.

Mine is short & not-so-sweet. “Bossy Barracuda” tells me to my face that my kids do not matter to her & that I had better learn to keep my time for them on the weekends, or find another job. Two weeks later, I did just that!

My horrible boss story is I worked for the government & my boss ordered me to falsify documents pertaining to large amounts of currency missing from a seizure as well as turn my back to illegal drugs entering the country. Why, you figure it out. I refused, was tortured, and eventually terminated after this boss threatened the lives of my family and me.

After 3 years of comittment, dedication, and rising the corporate ranks, then being the highest paid staff member at the time, a younger man was hired to my dept. He was there only 3 months when the company had a slight financial slump due to the time and economy. My boss walked into the office one day , walked over to me, and handed me a literal pink slip! I was in shock as I knew my job well and did a good job. The young man was there when it happened and smiled. I was let go and he was promoted with a very slight raise in pay scale. I was told by the big boss who knew my family that it was a financial decision, having nothing to do with my performance… and in those days men were allowed many times to keep jobs rather than women. Talk about “bad boss”… felt like I was in the “old boys club!” instead of an “equal opportunity employer! I wept a bit at the sometimes unfairness of life… I was younger then. Today I would fight back!!
