It’s that time again boys and girls. Time to see what is new and exciting in krasey fitness land. Did she lose, did she gain, did she work like a choo-choo train (sorry, I had to. Toooo much caffeine!)?

On to this week’s discoveries.

Fitness truly is a lifestyle

Before I ever started working out, I was both daunted and intimidated by the concept of committing to a gym. Today, 5 weeks later, I couldn’t imagine my life without it. Not only have my daily trips to the gym become a part of my regular routine, but it has gotten to the point where I feel funny when I don’t go. Nothing tops the sense of accomplishment that I feel after a good, long workout- nothing.

Once again, it isn’t about the numbers!

I know I mentioned this mantra a couple of week’s ago, but I felt that I needed reminding. This past  Thursday, I had another fitness evaluation, this time complete with strength testing, endurance testing, and a couple of key measurements. While my test came back with results that ranged from good to above average, I got wrapped up in the numbers trap, and allowed myself an hour or two to agonize over how my numbers weren’t low enough, or high enough. I was discouraged over what I perceived as a lack of improvement, until I started looking at other cues.

Silver Linings Insoles are a sneaker saver

A new gym bag (and sneaker) staple of mine are Silver Linings Odor-Absorbing Insoles. Ultra-thin, sweat wicking, and super-comfortable, these keep my sneakers and shoes completely stink free. Working out daily as I have been doing, that’s obviously a big deal.

This brings me to my next point. One of the best things I could have done before I started working out was to take a picture of myself in a new bathing suit that I bought. Confronted with how doughy and round my appearance had become, it was at that point that I decided that change was imminent. That photo is also one I keep close to me whenever I feel that I am not progressing. I look at it and see how far my body has come in the short time that I have been working out. I’m trimmer, and it shows!

And since you all enjoyed last week’s interlude so much, here is what I did this weekend!

Saturday night was for blog work, and relaxing with the Mr. On Sunday, I spent the day in the city with two of my best girlfriends.

First we went to the David Burke Townhouse for brunch

Then, we went shopping! I picked up this neat little book, among other things.

Next, we visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We went for the McQueen Exhibit, but of course the line for that was 2 hours long. We went for Ancient Egypt, instead.

Last but not least, the day ended with a little Sixteen Handles. Two weekends in a row, not bad at all!
