Once upon a time, there was a lovely damsel by the name of Snow White.

While her story is quite familiar to us all, the tale of her contemporary isn’t. This is a story with a slightly different tune.

In that famed fairytale, the fair princess took a bite of an apple, poisoned by her evil stepmother. As we all know, that apple put her into a suspended state, which was eventually broken when her prince came.

In this story, our damsel has taken a BITE of a new breed of lip products, and it has left her with a gorgeous, healthy pout to boot!  Say hello to BITE beauty, a full range of lip care and color products designed to not only impart pigment, sheen, and shine, but to also infuse lips with free radical busting, anti-aging antioxidant resveratrol, as well as other all-natural ingredients.

The line itself consists of seven different types of lip products, each with a different form, finish, and function. I have broken it down into three categories:

The Nourishing:

Vitamin Gel is a rich, moisture infused lip jelly that contains mood-enhancing essential oils and a boatload of multivitamins. Remember that reservatrol thing we mentioned earlier? Well, each gel contains the amount of found in five glasses of red wine.

These carry no color on their own, only tons of shine. Oh, and did I mention that they are also the yummiest products in the entire line, as far as scents and flavors go? It is in fact they are the only scented/flavored product in the entire line.

Superfruit Butter is another unique product, a moisturizer infused with superfruits acai, blueberry, cranberry, and pomegranate. These are known as superfruits with good reason, because they have the most potent antioxidant properties, or oxygen radical absorbance capacity values of any other food. The butter itself is rich and hydrating, simultaneously enriching and protecting my lips. Despite their names, these carry no scent, color, or flavor.

The Kiss of Color:

SPF 15 Sheer Balm is the only SPF product in the line, a slim tube of high shine, softly pigmented color. It is formulated with organic mint and blood orange essential oils, which serve to refresh and cool weather-worn lips. Just like the Vitamin Gels, each balm contains the amount of resveratrol found in five glasses of red wine.

The Pigmented:

Lip Shine is rather special, a hybrid liquid lipstick that delivers incredible color and shine. Jojoba beads keep lips well moisturized, while reservatrol (you guessed it, as much as five glasses of red wine) keeps lips looking youthful. Wear on these is on par with your traditional liquid lipstick, about 4 hours (on me).

Lip Rouge is another hybrid product, acting as both lip stain and cheek tint. The finish is semi-sheer in one layer, but buildable enough that several layers yields a more opaque result.

Luminous Crème Lipstick is a fast favorite of mine, a complete and comprehensive line of opaque, full color lipsticks. There are four different color families in the lipstick range (reds, pinks, berries, and neutrals), with each family having a different cap shape, to mimic individual lipstick personalities (and to make it easy to tell the lipsticks apart, too!).

With High Pigment Matte Pencil, I have saved the best for last. A rich, silky, ultra-pigmented pencil (hence, the name High Pigment Matte Pencil), the color lasts for hours upon hours. Even better, the formula wears comfortably, almost like silk on the lips.

While Snow White’s bite proved near fatal, BITE Beauty will leave any modern-day damsel far from (lip) distress. Not to mention, with a full range of products chock full of free radical-busting reservatrol, this is a line that is truly worth sinking your teeth into.
