When it comes to color cosmetics, there are two obvious routes one can go in a full facial application. The first, which I tend to favor on the weekends, is of course the bold and bright approach. The second, which is a requirement of my nine to five in corporate land, is of course the sheer, pretty, barely-there application. Towards that goal, Sheer Cover Makeup is doing a rather lovely job at keeping my visage looking lovely, in a rather subtle kind of way.
Sheer Cover is a brand founded by TV personality Leeza Gibbons. The original mineral makeup, the Sheer Cover line started with mineral powder foundation, and has since blossomed into a full scale color cosmetics line. Let’s have a look at a few of the selections.
The core of the Sheer Cover line is of course the mineral foundation. While I am not a huge fan of mineral foundations in general, I do like this one for its quick application, and natural, non cakey appearance. It’s a bit messy in the delivery system, but I find that to be the case with all mineral foundations. My shade is Bisque, incase you were wondering.
The Sophisticate Palette is a new addition to the line, a full-face palette designed to bring a subtle, classic kind of beauty. Included are 4 shades of soft, luminous eye shadows, 2 neutral lipglosses, and a universally flattering, peachy highlighter shade. This palette is great for a quick application, and has become a morning staple in my makeup routine.
The true gem of this collection, in my opinion of course, would have to be the duo concealer. Leeza demonstrated the magic of this concealer for us during a recent press event, but I didn’t truly believe until I tried it for myself. This creamy, full coverage concealer duo is lightweight in wear, incredibly blendable, and lasts the full day. Since there are two shades in each pan, you can use the concealer to highlight and contour, or you can literally mix and match until you get your perfect shade. If ever there was an incredibly forgiving concealer, this would be it.
Sheer Cover by Leeza Gibbons is a gem of a makeup line. Perfect for that fresh faced, flawless beauty that all women crave, this is definitely a line to check out. It is available on the Sheer Cover site as an introductory kit, and also on the Home Shopping Network.

How does this compare to Bare Escentuals? Bare Escentuals just did NOT work for me, and I’ve considered this brand but am not sure. The infomericials are very convincing though.
Bonnie, I found this to be very similar to B.E. I think that when it comes down to it, most mineral foundations are the same.
