This holiday season, Tarte wants you living like a royal, or at least making yourself up like one. With the all-in-one Royalty Palette, a world of makeup options awaits.
I have always been a huge fan of makeup palettes, so it goes without saying that I have embraced this particular edition from Tarte with arms wide open. Let’s start with the packaging, which is worthy of praise all on its own. Royal purple (purple!!) and decked out in sueded ruffles is not a bad outfit to wear if you are a palette, and with the gold sequined strip down the middle, the package becomes even more luxe. A flip of the lid reveals a slew of makeup products that are just as beautiful as the package itself is.
Opening the palette reveals 16 shades of shadow, in various textures and finishes. The shadows are creamy, dreamy, and perfectly blendable. If I had one complaint about the palette though, it would be that Tarte wasn’t very adventurous with the color options. You all know of my affinity for color, and I find myself wishing for some vivid jewel tones up in that space, to replace the several incarnations of beige and brown. Once a bright color lover, always a bright color lover I guess.
Pulling the purple tab on the bottom of the palette reveals a pull-out drawer, nestled in which there are various accouterments to complete any and all a makeup look. As a base, Clean Slate is a nifty option to get things smooth and settled. Contributing to the lash party is Multipleye Lash Primer, and Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. Finally, rounding out the makeup look, a neutral pink gloss with gold sparkle does rather nicely.
While I must confess that the only time I even came close to experiencing royalty was when I played Queen Esther in my preschool play, this Tarte Royalty Palette still has me feeling regal. When it comes to gift-giving, it doesn’t get easier (or prettier!) than this palette right here. It is currently available on the Tarte Website, and at your local Sephora.
