Warning: This post’s tone holds that special kind of giddiness that I reserve only for brands and launches that really, truly excite me. Get ready for some beauty gushing, people.
As soon as I got word that my beloved Make Up For Ever has launched a brand new line of lipglosses, you know that I got myself into that Union Square boutique as fast as my short (but powerful) legs could carry me. Swatch arm at the ready, I dove in to play with the new lineup of glossy glory.
A brand new addition, the full lineup of 35 lipglosses is divided into three different finishes, each one more dazzling then the next. Diamond, Metal, and Star Collection are their names; sparkle, intensity, and high shine are their game. The glosses glide on full and lush, thanks to a brush on applicator that deposits the color both smoothly and evenly. Wear is a dream, thanks to the fact that the texture is neither too watery nor too tacky. Licking my lips doesn’t bring the blech factor, as these glosses pack a delicious scent and fruity flavor.
Metal Shine provides a punch of pearly, shimmering color. The finish is somewhat jelly-like, and high on the opacity factor. Depending on how the light hits it, the color morphs just so.

Diamond Shine is what you get when you mix microglitter and a high-shine gloss. There are 12 shades in all, and each packs a kiss of color and a wallop of ultrafine glitter. Think MAC dazzleglass, but way less sticky.

I love the swatches and I think youre right the star glosses look amazing! However look at the quantity of the product its sorta like dazzleglass where youre getting cheated out of half the product but I dont care if it’s worth it!
Wendy, the glosses in the store had been out a while, so I think they have just been swatched often- possibly contributing to the empty look.
Definitely give one of the glosses a try when it becomes available to you. I am almost positive you will love it!
I actually meant that in total weight there is half the product that say the super lipgloss or the fascinating lipgloss.
None the less I will give these a try youre swatches are great and I’m dying for the D14, especially for summer.
