Today’s post is bringing lip luxury back, in the form of La Metier de Beaute‘s Red Rapture Kaleidoscope Lip Kit. Housing four different shades of crimson love, this exquisite palette is everything you could ever want to achieve a perfectly polished red pout.
I need to take a moment to discuss the packaging, which is stunning on its own. The compact is a sturdy (but not heavy or bulky) sparkling polished silver, with 4 discs that swivel out and allow you to access each color. The top of the compact flips open to reveal a mirror, which makes colors a snap to reapply while out and about. I would have liked a brush applicator somewhere in the packaging, though I realize that might get a bit messy.
The lipsticks themselves are beautifully rich, opaque, and moisturizing to boot. Packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and moisturizing emollients, the lipsticks glide onto the lips and stay there for hours. They have the subtle scent of vanilla, and each color sports a different finish. Meant to be layered for multi-dimensional effects, each lipstick can also be worn on its own and be just as beautiful.
I can tell you that the shades are Leeds, Monaco, Castelo, and Tremezzo, though the packaging doesn’t tell me which shade is which. In any case, here they are and ready for their close-ups.

The Red Rapture Kaleidoscope Lip Kit was a limited edition, but I would double check with your store to see if they still have one left in stock. I would also give Dustin at the NYC Bergdorf counter a call at 212 872 8612, to see if he can spot one at his counter for you.
My first experience with La Metier de Beaute has left me rather intrigued, and intent on exploring the rest of this luxury brand’s lineup.
